I’m Samantha Barber. Up until October 2016 I had been living and working in London, England and had become deeply unhappy with doing the 9-5 lifestyle and enduring city life. I was out of shape, overweight, had a bad diet and my health was poor with my rheumatoid arthritis constantly playing up. Something had to change.
So, I left my job, jumped on a plane to Ecuador and threw myself into a 9 week, 500-hour Kaula Tantra Yoga course.
I went into the course with the intention to improve my physical and emotional welfare, to break free from my old destructive thought-patterns and habits, creating a much better version of myself.
I had no idea how life-changing this experience would be for me. I came away from it having dropped a total of 3 stone / 42 pounds (19kgs), had a lot more motion in my body, with my rheumatoid arthritis symptoms under control, barely noticeable most days. Doing this calming and meditative yoga every day had transformed my life.
I ended up falling in love with Ecuador and staying there longer-term, working part-time as a virtual assistant and also doing volunteer projects. Wanting to expand on my personal healing I later embarked the level 1 and level 2 courses for EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) which allowed me to then practice this therapy on others.
Most recently, I have become qualified as an Access Bars® practitioner, which is another wonderful healing modality. I now am in a position to share what I have learned and help others on their journeys to better themselves and live their daily lives with love and consciousness.
I am The Nomadic Empath.
